Starting From Scratch is a coaching membership for serious golfers: a complete library from a PGA Professional, personal swing reviews from me, and a community working on the same things you are.
Taught by Colin Lockey, PGA Professional.
Real swings. Measured results.
You are frustrated because nobody ever showed you how to actually play this game. Most golfers are afraid of putting in the effort and still not getting better, and that fear is fair. The problem is not your effort. It is spending that effort on the wrong things. Here are a few of the things nobody explained.
How many 10-footers should a good player make? How many fairways do tour pros hit? Most golfers have never been told, so every normal round feels like a failure.
If you cannot connect a shot to its cause, every bad swing is a mystery. Here, every miss has a reason, and a fix you can take to the course.
Fire at a short-sided flag and fail to get up and down, and the mistake was the iron shot, not your chipping. Learn where the mistake actually happened.
Swing changes take time, and they take far less when you know what you are changing and why.
I spent years and a lot of my own money learning from some of the best coaches in the world. Starting From Scratch is everything I learned from them, in one place.
Personal feedback on your swing, recorded just for you. How often depends on the membership you choose.
Recorded video analysis, with practice plans and drills. Every member gets one when they join, and the two coaching memberships include ongoing reviews.
No drip feed. Every lesson is available the moment you join, and new videos are added consistently, so it never goes stale.
Step-by-step plans for the full swing, chipping, and putting, so you always know what to work on.
Bring your questions. Replays are saved in the library.
Share wins, post your round notes, and ask questions. You can also request what I cover next.

I coach golfers at every level, from first rounds to college competition. Real swings, real scores, in their own words.
Matt plays college golf for Mississippi Gulf Coast. We worked on hitting a consistent fade and shallowing the club effectively. He finished second at -5, September 21 to 22, 2026.
Final standings, Duane Chanay Classic.

Colin's system helped me simplify my feels and the way he explained everything made it a lot easier for me. I went to him wanting to get more length out of my swing and got not only that but confidence as well.

When she started working with me, her swing was a bit long and over hinged, and she was using her hands to square the clubface and losing distance.
Before
After
The hands no longer have to save it. She is wider, she rotates through, and the strike is crisp.
He has put in the work and is seeing the results: major improvements to his swing and a recent 38 for nine holes at The Preserve.
Before
After
Problem: he rolled the clubface open in the takeaway, a move a lot of golfers make, then had to square it with timing and his hands. He also got under plane, which caused a hook and pushed his low point too far back. We have been working on fixing those things and the results are solid, consistent draws.
Shot 80 and we won the district tournament. Shot even par on the backside.

When I tell you that something has clicked, it is absolutely night and day difference. … I think I might be able to actually play this game.

The coaching has been extremely helpful. I think for me the format of videos and something I can digest and then try out is the most helpful for me because in a lesson I feel like I don't hold onto the information.

You are serious about getting better and willing to put in the work.
You would rather understand your swing than keep collecting tips.
You want honest feedback, not flattery.
You want a quick fix without practicing.
You think the next new club will solve it.
You want casual, one-off tips.
I got so frustrated with golf that I quit playing for ten years. I never got to where I wanted to be, and I was done.
When I came back, I found something I did not expect: I love teaching. I get far more joy from watching a student hit a great shot than I ever got from my own game.
So I became a PGA Professional, and as an experiment I rebuilt my own golf swing over several years, studying with some of the best coaches in the world. Then I did the same with my short game. I would never put a student through that, but it taught me how change really happens, and I can show you the before and after.
Starting From Scratch is everything I learned, built so you can play better and enjoy the whole process more.

Any golfer who is serious about improving, from a beginner willing to work to a scratch player. The library starts with fundamentals and goes deep.
No. A phone and a tripod are enough, and there is a lesson inside on how to film your swing. If you do have launch monitor numbers, send them in for your swing review, but it is not necessary.
You upload a video to the community and get a recorded breakdown from me, then reply with questions until it makes sense. Library members get one review when they join, Monthly Review members get one every month, and Weekly Review members get one every week.
If you are comfortable working through the library on your own, start with Library. If you want regular feedback on your progress, choose Monthly Review. If you are working on a bigger swing change or want a coach checking in every week, choose Weekly Review.
The whole library is open from day one. Go at your own pace and come back whenever you need it.
